‘Our palette is wide and eclectic. That’s why we crank out a lot of different styles. To some people, it makes us seem disjointed or scattered. But when we play live, it makes sense to us.’ Tyler Joseph

I am not the best writer, yet I see it as a strength, and I really enjoy it. I am not the best runner, cyclist, yogi, swimmer, or dancer, yet the desire to move my body I see as a strength, and I miss that feeling of power, freedom and sheer satisfaction and gratitude when I am prevented from ‘getting going.’ I am not the best teacher, but I see it as a strength, and I feel that I have empowered people on my path.

I was taught recently that it is not a criminal offence to acknowledge our strengths. They are gifts and need to be accepted with gratitude and celebrated. But more importantly, I learned that it is not a single strength that makes us into the most inspiring person only we can be but using a combination of these strengths in a unique way and for the good of all. I agree.

Our strengths combined and applied in distinctive ways throughout this wonderful and complex life are what is potentially so exciting. Especially when those strengths are realised and activated regularly to be in service of  our own growth and that of others.

Question for you. How do you and the people you know, and love combine strengths? That’s something I would encourage everyone to notice and give thanks for. You will find people with individual talent in every area of your life. It’s the combinations, used to inspire support and grow together that are remarkable.
