TESTIMONIALS

“As a school, we have had the privilege of working with Karen to develop our Senior Leadership Team, identifying both our strengths and areas for growth. Her approach is not only strategic but also deeply creative—she brings a fresh perspective that inspires deeper thinking and reflection across all aspects of leadership. After stepping into my new role as Deputy Head, Karen established a reciprocal group for emerging leaders. This group provided a powerful space for support, challenge, and professional growth. Through visits to other educational settings and the use effective and simple models to develop approaches to quality assurance we were able to explore our ideas in a meaningful way, engaging in open, honest dialogue that sharpened our understanding and practice.

Karen’s creativity has been a catalyst for rich discussions around the core leadership skills of trust, communication, valuing staff, and mutual respect. Her ability to frame these conversations in a way that is both thought-provoking and practical has helped me grow in confidence and clarity. I’ve been encouraged to step outside my comfort zone, and in doing so, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of what effective leadership truly looks like.

The programme has also fostered strong, supportive relationships with other new leaders. Sharing experiences and exploring common challenges together has been incredibly rewarding. Karen’s guidance has not only enhanced our leadership capabilities but also strengthened our sense of purpose and connection as a team.

Her impact has been profound, and I am truly grateful for the insight, inspiration, and growth she has brought to our leadership journey.”

“Karen’s joyful curiosity, through questioning, discussion and reflection, has enabled me to clarify, strengthen and refine my thoughts and decisions. Through Karen’s coaching, I have developed my ability to concisely identify effective education practises, evaluate the impact on learners, and recognise the valuable leadership decisions made to achieve this, transferring this to my own practise. Karen’s unwavering commitment to effective leadership and her drive for quality in and for education is clear. She has a remarkable ability to get you thinking in new and deeper ways, and her vast, in-depth knowledge of education and effective leadership has been invaluable to my own leadership journey.”

“Being part of Karen’s reciprocal leadership programme has been a transformative experience. Her vision and facilitation have fostered deep, meaningful collaboration across five schools, creating a powerful network of support and challenge. In its second year, the inclusion of deputy headteachers through a needs-led approach has significantly strengthened leadership capacity.

Karen’s expert mentoring, coaching, and facilitation have enabled high-quality professional dialogue, leading to tangible improvements in learner outcomes in my school and across the wider network. The bespoke training she has delivered, carefully tailored to the needs of staff, learners, and the school community, has been of exceptional quality. It has empowered leaders at all levels and driven system-wide progress. This programme has been exactly what the education system needs; strategic, empowering, and impactful.”

What positive impact will there be?

This was often the question Karen asked me, when coaching me in my role as Essential Skills Coordinator, when working in an Independent Specialist College.

She inspired me to look at how to improve my own practice and would ask me questions to help me discover how to open more doors for the young people we were supporting to be the best they can be, and of course also the best I can be in my work.

Karen’s coaching skills can be described as refreshing, open and through intensive listening Karen would ask me questions that will go directly to the core of what next steps need to be taken. She listens intently and, with empathy and honesty is able to guide you to new ideas, or possibilities and how you might be able to move forward.

After a coaching session, I would come away refreshed with new energy to tackle challenges or or just continue what I was doing, but with more consciousness on what impact I can make to other people’s lives, yet also to my own life and work.

Karen is interested, inquisitive, warm, and through her questioning, brings positive energy to conversations, which resulted in me feeling excited to see what I can do when searching to bring out the best in myself and the others I am responsible for.

Karen is deeply connected to her own life experiences and the world of education, evaluating together with you on how to find meaning and answers to your search for truth, progress and how to create positive impact.

As a coach, Karen will help you to find new horizons, bringing joy and fulfillment to your work and life’s questions.

“I had the privilege of working with Karen recently, focussing on identifying core values and directions for personal development. I’d never worked in this context before, but Karen was able to lead me through the process, using insightful questioning and thoughtful feedback, to enable me to reflect on what’s important to me and why I react the way I do. Being able to think in this way has been so useful, and enabled me to deal with complex situations in much more effective ways. Understanding why I respond to situations in the way I do, means I have been able to work with Karen to develop new ways of thinking and reacting. I was so impressed with the way Karen was able to see through my narratives to the key issues beneath, so that she could guide me to develop a new way of thinking. These sessions have been so enlightening and enjoyable: I would not hesitate to recommend Karen’s coaching, and am looking forward to working with her again.”
